So Piers had more beef with Gordie (although they do become friends later on) than Raihan but still he was wary of the young Hammerlocke royal. Spikemuth as a whole is just anti-royalist, with particular hate towards the Circhesters (Melony and Gordie’s family) since the Circhesters technically have Spikemuth under it’s territory (once Rose is in jail, Gordie and Leon both make it a priority to help Spikemuth rebuild itself via the Duchy of Circhester and Macro Cosmos). Both Nessa and Piers come from extremely anti-monarchial places. But also using his social media influence to show the royals as normal people but in a less condescending manner than other Royals have tried to do so in the pastīut really the biggest influences on how he relates to his title were actually Nessa and Piers. That’s why when he took over the gym he made it a priority to guard the Vault and make it more accessible to everyone in Galar and including more options for scholars like Sonia to get more in depth looks at artifacts. Jacks’ actions during his gym challenge definitely caused Raihan to think more about his position in society and how he as a Royal wants to interact with the rest of his fellow Galarians. But even with as much beef as they had, there were a number of Raihan’s extended family who lowkey supported Jack as he became champion since he was definitely drumming up support among the commoners for more monarchial rule (you know until he crossed multiple moral event horizons and destroyed the goodwill and name of his family lineage). Like as far as royal court drama, both Jack and Raihan’s family had a long standing beef with each other since Raihan’s family lost the land of Stow-On-Side and Ballonlea to Jack’s family when they rose to power. Granted Raihan came from probably the most progressive royal family in Galar (close second being Melony and Gordie’s family which get more progressive as Melony and then Gordie take over).īut still, he was in some ways quite sheltered and there were definitely some aunts and uncles who were more in line with Jack and the Royal Twins. Like to be frank you know he did grow up in the nobility circles (much like Avery, Gordie and Melony did as they are the other canon NPCs who were born nobles) so he did initially grow up with some views that would make anti-royalists scream in rage. Raihan in my Pokeverse has a lot of complex feelings about being a royal when everything is said and done. What are Raihan feelings about his noble title in your AU? Especially after Jack, and then the Royal Twins.
